Community Navigation (I&R) Day is a time to recognize the people who help connect our community to vital resources. These professionals—often called Community Navigators—make it easier for individuals and families to find programs and services like food support, housing, mental health care, employment, and more.
Every day, Community Navigators guide people through life’s challenges by:
Listening with compassion
Providing accurate, up-to-date information
Connecting individuals to local programs and services
Their work ensures that no one feels alone when searching for help.
November 16th is Community Navigation Day! Here’s how you can show your support:
Say Thank You: Post a message of appreciation on social media using #IRDay.
Share Your Story: Has a Community Navigator helped you or someone you know? Share your experience online or with friends.
Spread the Word: Tell others about the Halton Community Services Directory at hipinfo.ca
Here in Halton, Community Navigators have made a big difference:
Helped a senior with a gluten allergy receive weekly food deliveries.
Connected a single mom of three to hygiene items and mental health support.
Supported families with pet food through partnerships with OMHS and local donors.
These are just a few examples of how navigators strengthen our community every day.
